Tips to make earning Dragon's Dogma 2's PS5 platinum trophy easier
Dragon's Dogma 2 will require you to check out almost every aspect of it to unlock the platinum trophy 'The True Arisen.' However, the trophy list feels more like a taster session of all the different activities you can get up to in the game, rather than being a completionist nightmare. The list itself isn't too intimidating and there look to be only a few trophies that could actually be missable. This spoiler-free guide isn't here to tell you how to unlock each and every trophy in Dragon's Dogma 2. This guide is here to help you keep certain objectives and actions in mind so that you have a better chance of unlocking some of the more obscure trophies or ones that may take a bit of a grind in your own playthrough of Dragon's Dogma 2. So, let's get into our tips and tricks on how to tackle Dragons Dogma 2, head-on.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is an epic adventure
Take your time with Dragon's Dogma 2 and explore everything
However, most importantly, the more you explore, the more locations you will uncover and the closer you will be to snatching the bronze trophy 'The Tourist' (discover 50 different locations). Every cave you enter, village you stumble across, or odd landmark you find will work towards earning this trophy. So, once again, please explore, take your time, and don't feel pressured to rush through the main story. In doing so, you'll miss out on lots of exciting set pieces and likely be nowhere near earning the two previously mentioned trophies.
There are no co-op-based trophies to worry about, something we could have already figured out due to Capcom announcing the absence of co-op in Dragon's Dogma 2.
There are no trophies for 100% completion or beating the game on a high difficulty
While there are no trophies connected to the side quests, I still recommend you check them out. They add more depth to the world, take you to areas you may not have explored on your own, and can provide valuable loot that will be needed when facing down some of the tougher challenges. Some side quests will also have a time limit to complete them, so I advise you to knock these ones out as soon as you acquire them. This way you avoid getting locked out of some decent loot.
Another exciting tidbit is that there are no difficulty-related trophies or speedrun trophies to have to worry about. This means you could theoretically earn every trophy in a single playthrough if you're smart about it. Just make sure to keep these tips and tricks in mind as you play through the game for the first time.
Dragon's Dogma 2 features some incredible classes (vocations)
Don't be afraid to change vocations, else you may miss trophies
Another reason to make sure you are changing up vocations frequently is that four trophies are connected to trying out different vocations available to you throughout the game. The trophies in question are 'Trickster of the Trade' (try out the Trickster vocation), 'Arrows and Incantations' (try out the Magick Archer vocation), 'Jack of All Trades, Master of All Trades' (try out the Warfarer vocation), and, of course, the aforementioned 'Duo Destinies' trophy.
These vocations will become available when you speak to certain individuals located around the map. So, make sure you keep your eyes peeled, otherwise you may completely miss some of these above vocations and struggle to earn their respective trophies.
There are no trophies connected to the Warrior or Sorcerer vocations that you also need to unlock through a random side quest. So, don't worry if you don't unlock those specific vocations. I accidentally sold off the item I needed to unlock the Sorcerer's vocation and seemingly I am unable to access this vocation now. Hopefully, later in the game, I find another way to access it.
Give gifts frequently in order to grab a couple of easily overlooked trophies
Gift-giving isn't the only way to raise people's affection for you, but it certainly goes a long way to making the grind for those 50 NPCs that much easier, especially if you start doing it from the start of the game. Nobody wants to have to grind this one out after you've already spent over 100 hours scouring the lands for loot and slaying monsters.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a long journey, so buckle up and enjoy it
Don't worry too much about the Dragon's Dogma 2 platinum and have fun
A huge bulk of the trophy list is going to unlock naturally as you finish the story, clean up side quests, face off against enemies in the wild, and explore all of the game's nooks and crannies. So, have fun, explore, fight, and live your best life in Dragon's Dogma 2, you are in for one hell of a good time.
