  • Subscribers can expect to receive in-game items, free titles, and unique content but should prepare for the end of support for these three games.

First starting as Twitch Prime and then becoming Amazon Prime Gaming in 2020, the service is available to all Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscribers with no extra costs, and now the requirement to have a Twitch account is also gone. Prime Gaming has been a popular place to get some cool video game rewards for free for many players, often coming in the form of cosmetics like skins and emotes or in-game currencies, at times even providing mystery boxes for games like Elder Scrolls Online. Unfortunately, March 7 is going to be a sad day for some Prime Gaming subscribers as it marks the end of the service for a popular live-service game, and just a week after the same will happen for two more titles.

On top of free in-game items, Prime Gaming also provides subscribers with free titles from time to time. Prime Gaming's February games likely had fans excited, especially since the original Fallout was made available on February 1, and it matters now more than ever after Epic Games Store pulled the Fallout trilogy from the store before they were even available. However, March is looking a bit grim for subscribers, as Prime Gaming will end support for three games.

Destiny 2's Prime Gaming Freebies Are Soon Ending For Good

Prime Gaming ending support for some titles is nothing new, and while Pokemon GO fans will be able to obtain some great items for free on March 8, the month will mark the end of support for Bungie's Destiny 2 as well as Riot's League of Legends and Valorant. Destiny 2 has been using Prime Gaming for quite some time, and more recently introduced even unique Shaders through the service, with the current bundle ending on March 7 being the 49th overall since the partnership started.

Destiny 2 hasn't been doing well in the past year, starting with a rocky launch of the Lightfall expansion and trying hard to retain an ever-dwindling playerbase through microtransaction controversies, Bungie layoffs, and the delay of The Final Shape expansion. On one hand, Destiny 2 is giving away Bright Dust for free for a few weeks now which is good news for long-time fans, but on the other hand, freebies through Prime Gaming are coming to a permanent end shortly. The service has been a great source of free cosmetics, such as Exotic Ships and Sparrows for a long time, and it's sad to see it go for good.

March 14 is a Sad Day for League of Legends and Valorant

Prime Gaming is Ending Support For Riot Games' Titles on March 14

As if that wasn't enough of a sad blow, live-service games are being hit even harder just one week later, as March 14 will be the final day of the partnership between Prime Gaming and Riot Games, ending support for both League of Legends and Valorant. The news came from Riot as early as December of last year, and it was a bit of a shock for veterans of both titles. League of Legends freebies via Prime Gaming became available every two weeks in October 2021, and eventually, the service started including even free RP for the purchase of in-game cosmetics and Legends.

When Valorant's Prime Gaming support was announced, players expected to see skins over Gun Buddies and Sprays, but the service did offer a lot over the years. Since Prime Gaming's free games are becoming its main focus, it's no wonder that some collaborations like the ones with Bungie and Riot are coming to a close, and in the future, it may be the turn of other big names in the industry. Until then, however, fans have some time to decide what to do with the final freebies in Destiny 2, League of Legends, and Valorant ahead of March as well as their Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscriptions.

CREATIVITY IS YOUR GREATEST WEAPON
More than guns and bullets, you’ll choose an Agent armed with adaptive, swift, and lethal abilities that create opportunities to let your gunplay shine. No two Agents play alike, just as no two highlight reels will look the same.
